The weight of grief rests heavy on my brow
As I wake to a world that feels empty and hollow
Your love was a shelter, a fortress of devotion
But now that you’re gone, I am lost in an ocean
Of sorrow and longing, asking every day
When will you come back and wipe my tears away
Though we are apart, I feel you always near
Your scent clings to my collar, a memory that is dear
The gardens are ablaze with color, but to me, they bring no delight
Only a reminder of a love that was bright, but now out of sight
The rain may bring life to the desert, but for me, it only brings more pain
Oh Father, how I long to see you again.
